Site walk and daily log

Walk the site.
Talk.
Get the daily log.

The daily log is the report that gets written at nine at night from memory. Walk the site once with the camera running and narrate: crews, deliveries, progress, what's blocked. Simple Capture turns the walk into a dated log with photos, the tickets and tags read off, and every word you said.

How to do it

One video, about a minute of waiting, and the page is ready.

  1. Start at the gate

Press red and narrate as you walk: who's on site, the weather, what arrived.

  2. Stop on the work

Pause on work in place, deliveries, inspection tags and anything that's wrong. Each stop becomes a scene photo.

  3. It reads the paperwork

Delivery slips, inspection tags and signs are copied out. Your narration is transcribed with timestamps.

  4. Ask for the log, share it

Say "make today's daily log." You get a page with work done, deliveries and issues, and a private link the owner can open and ask questions of.

Tips

  • Narrate even what you can see. The transcript is the searchable part.
  • Get close to every delivery slip and tag.
  • Same route every day makes the logs easy to compare.

Where it stops

  • It is not field management software: no drawings, RFIs, time cards or formal safety forms.
  • It records what it saw and what you said. It won't judge whether the site is safe or up to code.
  • Weather and headcounts come from you.
