Simple Capture is made by Komodo AI. This page says what the app collects, why, and how to delete it. Last updated October 17, 2026.
What we collect
- Your captures. The videos, photos and audio you record or pick, and what Simple Capture makes from them: scenes, text it reads, transcripts, stories, summaries, images and audio.
- Your conversations with your assistant. While you talk to it, your voice is streamed to be understood and answered, and on the camera screen it also sees about one frame a second. We keep the text of what was said so it can pick up where you left off.
- What your assistant remembers. Lasting preferences it notices, like the language you speak or how you like answers. You can ask it to forget anything.
- Voices (optional). If you choose to, Simple Capture saves a voiceprint so it can tell who is speaking in your recordings. This is only for adults who agreed, never for children, and you can delete any voice at any time in People.
- Location (optional). If you allow it, where a capture was taken and where you are when you ask a question.
- Account (optional). If you sign in with email, Apple or Google, your email address and name, so you can see your captures on simplecapture.app too.
- Credits. How many credits you use, and purchases if you buy any (payments are handled by Apple, Google or Stripe; we never see your card).
- App usage and crash reports. Which features are used and errors in the app, linked to an anonymous ID, to fix problems and improve the app.
- A device identifier and push token, so the app works without an account and can tell you when your story is ready.
How we use it
Only to make Simple Capture work for you. We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites. To do the work we use service providers who process data for us under their terms: Cloudflare (storage and hosting), Google Gemini (understanding images, audio and text, and the live assistant), Deepgram (transcription), ElevenLabs (spoken summaries), Clerk (sign-in), Expo (notifications and app updates), PostHog and Sentry (usage and crash reports), RevenueCat, Apple, Google and Stripe (purchases).
Saving to Photos
If you choose to, videos and photos you take are also saved to your phone's photo library. Simple Capture only adds to your library; it never changes or deletes anything there.
Deleting your data
Delete any capture by swiping it away. To delete everything, open Settings and tap Delete account and data: your captures, media, saved voices, conversations and what your assistant remembers are erased, and your account is closed (you can also request deletion without the app). We keep a minimal record of credits used and costs, with no content, for billing.
Reporting AI content
If something the AI made is offensive or wrong, tap Report on it. We keep the report and a short excerpt to review it.
Children
Simple Capture is not for children under 13. It never saves children's voices and won't make caricatures or restyled images of children.
