Before the boxes come in, walk the place once with the camera running and say what you see. Simple Capture turns that one video into a room-by-room record with photos of every mark, the meter readings copied out, and a report page you can send to your landlord.

How to do it

One video, about a minute of waiting, and the page is ready.

  1. Walk it once, slowly

Press red at the front door and go room by room. Talk as you go: "small chip in the counter, right of the sink."

  2. Stop on what matters

Pause on scuffs, stains, appliances, windows, the meter and the smoke alarms. Every stop becomes a scene photo.

  3. Capture writes it up

It finds the rooms, lists what's in each, copies out meter numbers and labels, and puts your spoken notes beside the right scene.

  4. Make the report, share it

Hold the red button and say "make a move-in report for my landlord." You get a page with every room, its photos and notes, and a private link to send.

Tips

  • Do it before furniture goes in, with the lights on and the blinds open.
  • Open the oven, the fridge and the closets. Closed doors hide the things that get disputed.
  • Read the meter out loud as well as filming it.
  • Film the move-out the same way, so the two records sit side by side in your library.

Where it stops

  • It is a record, not legal advice. Capture won't tell you what a landlord can deduct.
  • If your lease asks for a particular checklist, fill it in and attach the report to it.
  • It describes what the camera saw. A mark you never pointed at isn't in the report.
